New GP Surgery for North Chelmsford one step closer as Elizabeth Courtauld Partnership signs lease for Beaulieu Healthcare Centre

Residents of Beaulieu are set to have a new GP practice, as NHS Mid and South Essex confirms that the Elizabeth Courtauld Partnership will take on the lease for the brand-new Beaulieu Healthcare Centre. The new centre will operate as a branch surgery of the Partnership’s North Chelmsford Healthcare Centre.

Located in the heart of Beaulieu Square, adjacent to the Beaulieu Community Centre, the purpose-built facility will provide vital healthcare services to the growing communities of Beaulieu and North Chelmsford. The signing of the lease marks a significant milestone, bringing the opening of the new Beaulieu Healthcare Centre one step closer.

The new facility has been provided by Countryside (now part of the Vistry Group) and L&Q, the developers of Beaulieu. Once operational, it will be staffed by a range of healthcare professionals, offering a variety of GP-led patient services and enhancing existing healthcare services across Chelmsford.

The Beaulieu Healthcare Centre spans over 10,000 sq ft (929 sq m) and has been designed to be a modern, sustainable facility, achieving BREEAM Excellent standards and has been built to be Net Zero Carbon in Occupation with the help of solar panels and smart energy systems.

Martin Leach, Managing Director, Vistry Strategic Land & Major Projects, said: “This lease signing is a pivotal moment for Beaulieu. It brings us closer to delivering the high-quality healthcare provision that this growing community needs. The health centre has always been a key part of our vision for Beaulieu – a place where people can live well, with essential services right on their doorstep.”

Adam Simpson, development and project management director at L&Q, said: “We are proud to reach this milestone for the local community at Beaulieu and look forward to celebrating the opening of the new health centre in due course. As well as delivering a mix of high-quality affordable homes, our team and partners are working hard to provide the infrastructure, green spaces and facilities that residents need to live their best lives.”

Tom Abell, Chief Executive of NHS Mid and South Essex, said: “The new Beaulieu Healthcare Centre will be a welcome addition to healthcare services for the residents of Beaulieu and north Chelmsford. It is a significant investment of NHS funding that will future-proof services for the growing community. This new, modern healthcare centre will help to make sure local residents can continue to access high quality healthcare services in the heart of their community.”

A representative from Elizabeth Courtauld Partnership said: “We are delighted at the opportunity of opening Beaulieu Healthcare Centre, expanding our commitment to offering a high-quality healthcare service to the local community.
